Gowanus Dredgers
Canoe Trips
Of course - what’s better than capturing people having fun in canoes!? This is how I first started taking photographs for the Gowanus Dredgers, and gradually became the ‘official’ photographer for the club.

Citizen Science & Field Trips
I know that one way to get grants is to prove you have a track record doing what you say you can do. What better way than to document the activities? At the Gowanus Dredgers we do a ton of Citizen Science work with volunteers and host as many field trips as we can manage with our all volunteer staff. Shooting students is always a careful project, I make sure to only include students who have given permission and share the images with their teachers and supervisors for confirmation that we can use images captured.

Musicians & Events
Music on a dock in the dark! Medieval Dramatists in the cul-de-sac! Art parades! Working with the Gowanus Dredgers means I never quite know what the situation is going to be, but that’s part of the fun. I love capturing people enjoying activities, learning about our ecosystem and engaging with the community.
